Workout inspirational quotes are essential tools for getting back on track or taking your workout to the next level. Today, I present 70 inspirational quotes for your health and fitness journey. The quotes come from athletes, coaches, entrepreneurs, celebrities, and everyday gym rats.
Why You Need Workout Motivational Quotes
Studies show that most American children and adults don’t get enough exercise. Additionally, we sit too much! Do you know that sitting is the new smoking? As mentioned in a previous post, our bodies were made to move, not sit all day. Instead, we need to move regularly to keep the body and mind healthy throughout the day.
Many chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease can be prevented or managed by being more physically active. So, how much exercise do you need? According to the physical activity guidelines, adults need:
- At least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) to 300 minutes (5 hours) a week of moderate-intensity aerobic (cardio) activity, or
- 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) to 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic (cardio) physical activity, or
- An equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic (cardio) activity.
If you want to lose weight or maximize your health benefits, then engage in 300 minutes (5 hours) or more of moderate-intensity physical activity a week.
Regardless of your health goals or weight status, do muscle-strengthening exercises two or more days a week. For most people, that means lifting weights.
OK. I admit that these recommendations are a bit intimidating. However, these workout inspirational quotes will motivate you to crush your goals. The battle begins and ends in the mind. So, just get started and don’t overthink it.
